Incomplete (I) Grades and Agreements
The Incomplete ("I") grade signifies that a portion of the required coursework has not been completed and evaluated in the prescribed time period due to fully justified reasons, and that there is still a possibility of the student earning credit.
The instructor designates terms of the contract and length of time allowed to complete work, not to exceed one year. Instructors are required to provide the conditions for removal of the Incomplete grade in writing for the student to review and acknowledge. Failure to complete the assigned work on time results in the Incomplete being counted as equivalent to an "F" (or "NC") for grade point average computation.
In the case of senior project courses, and when approved by the department and/or an academic dean, the Office of the Registrar will process grade changes for "I" grades assigned by the instructor after this one-year time limit has expired without requiring any further documentation.
