Matriculation refers to the complete process of being admitted to Cal Poly as a candidate for a certificate, degree or credential.

A matriculated student is a student who has, through normal procedures, been formally admitted to Cal Poly by the Chief Admissions Officer to pursue an authorized degree, credential or certificate (for academic credit) and who is enrolled in or is expected to enroll in courses.  A student may be matriculated through state-support university enrollment or through self-support extended education enrollment, or both.
